Alone, Not Lonely
-
I served as level designer for this spooky puzzle-adventure set in the Louisiana Bayou about a young kid being home alone and confronting his anxiety.

Worked in team of 8 on fully shipped game over 20-week period. Designed and implemented 6 levels using the following process:
Brainstormed ideas and sketched potential scenes
Deliberated with the producer over the design
Documented the layout, ideal playthrough, new mechanics, new art assets, important visuals, and concerns
Pitched the level during weekly team meetings
Iterated on the design based on team feedback
Constructed a greybox for the level and playtested
Iterated on the design based on tester feedback
Placed art assets and lighting into the level
Iterated, iterated, and iterated some more
Focused the design on provoking different feelings within each room as well as teaching the player new mechanics to be used in tandem with old ones
Hinted at the game narrative through art assets like picture frames, notes, and toys
